Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 6 October 2026 — A delegation from the National Communications Authority (NCA) of Somalia, led by Director General Mr Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, participated in CyberDSA 2026, a conference organized by Aerosea Exhibitions Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference brings together government representatives, cybersecurity professionals, and technology industry leaders to discuss AI security, digital trust, and protecting essential services.
Held under the theme “Advancing Secure AI, Strengthening Digital Trust and Safeguarding Data Sovereignty”, the conference focuses on digital trust, cyber defense, and protecting national critical infrastructure.
During the opening day, Mr Sheikh participated in a CyberStage Forum hosted by CyberSecurity Malaysia on “Protecting Systems from Rogue AI Models and Agents”. He joined cybersecurity and digital identity experts to discuss how to safeguard digital systems when artificial intelligence models and agents operate beyond their intended purpose.
The discussion covered controlling AI access to systems, monitoring its activities, reviewing outputs, requiring human approval for sensitive actions, and establishing measures to stop or isolate unsafe AI behavior.
“This conference gives us an opportunity to exchange experiences with our international counterparts and explore cooperation in cybersecurity. As our country expands its digital services, protecting those services and strengthening public trust are priorities for us,” said Mr Sheikh.
On the sidelines of the conference, Mr Sheikh also held meetings with his Malaysian counterparts and a number of international participants to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for cooperation in cybersecurity and digital development.
